MY RESERVATIONS ON RESERVATION

I am a Hindu by religion. But that is not the reason for my reservations against reservation. I feel that the very basis on which this great nation was built has been raped by our politians.yes I m talking about secularism and it’s degradation in India. Reservation was first brought in this country post independence with an idea of providing enlistment of the downtrodden sections of our society but alas this no longer serves the purpose. It is now been used for vote bank politics. We now have a political party for almost all religions. This has led to a pathetic state of affairs. We no longer find any party that is able to capture a majority in the parliament. The arithmetic to form a got is forming the basis of political alliances rather than the thought processes. Due to this critical reforms that are necessary for the development of the country and realization of the India of our dreams remains just politely.
This has got to change. And it’s possible only if the youth of this nation unite. I’m not totally against the idea of reservation. My argument is that if at all there is need for reservation let it be on the basis of economic status rather than religion. Why do we need reservation for wealthy Muslims n Christians if they are quite well off n have all the facilities to compete with any other person??
